Michael Wayne Benson Sr., 31, died Dec. 5, 1998. 
Michael was born March 8, 1967, in Portsmouth, Va., and attended Windsor High School. He was a professional painter and a Little League baseball coach. He attended Mt. Carmel Christian Church. 
Michael is survived by his wife, Celynn Bickhart Benson; his parents, Len and Diane Benson; three sons, Michael Wayne Benson Jr., Ryan Patrick Benson, and Nicholas Anthony Benson; a brother, Randy Benson and his wife, Stephanie, and his maternal grandmother, Helen L. Duck. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, John H. Duck, and his paternal grandparents, Len R. Benson Sr. and Jennie Sue Benson. 
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Robert Bennett and the Rev. James Poe officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, Va. 23507.
