Michael Dylan Beame, 16, died Sept. 12, 1998. 

Born in Danville, Va., Michael was a ninth-grader at Southampton High School and a member of the Southampton Middle School basketball team. He was a Baptist. 

Survivors include his father, Michael Edward Beame and his wife, Donna, of Danville; his mother, Cindy Lee Smith and her husband, Troy, of Capron; seven sisters, Alexandria Michelle Smith, Victoria Marie Davis, Megan Nicole Davis, all of Capron, Carrie Dawn Beame, Asia Danielle Hill, Christie Hill and Robin Hill, all of Danville; one nephew, Timothy Ethan Smith of Capron; maternal grandparents, Bobby and Netra Towler of Dry Fork, Va., and paternal grandmother, Gracie Pauline Beame of Dansville. 

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Capron Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Worthy. Burial will be in Capron Cemetery . The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Young Marines, P.O. Box 222, Capron, Va. 23829.
