Quay Road, a retired elementary schoolteacher, died March 25, 1991, in a Franklin hospital. Mrs. Beale, a native of Southampton County, had retired from the Southampton County public schools after 23 years. She was the widow of W. Emory Beale. She was a member of South Quay Baptist Church and Holland Woman's Club. She was a graduate of Chowan College and Longwood College. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Frances B. Goode of Richmond; four sisters, Sara V. Darden of Windsor, Eddie Mae Woods of Norfolk, and Temperance Vaughan and Maggie L. Vaughan, both of Franklin; and three step-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Ronald Nickell, the Rev. Donald Trump and the Rev. Reginald Warren.
