Obituary of RALPH DARDEN BARRETT The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - March 29, 1995 Ralph Darden Barrett, 82, of 34576 Statesville Road, died March 28, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was a retired farmer and native of Southampton County, Va. He was the son of the late Hugh A. Barrett Sr. and Pearl Darden Barrett. He was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Newsoms Hunt Club. He is survived by two sisters, Juliette B. O'Berry and Antionette B. Trew, and a sister-in-law, Shelton V. Barrett, all of Newsoms. He is also survived by three nephews, Bruce Trew of Newsoms, Jack Trew Jr. of Courtland and Ernie Barrett of Little Rock, Ark. He was predeceased by a brother, Hugh A. Barrett Jr. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms, by the Rev. Patricia Tony and the Rev. Kenneth Williams. The family will receive friends at the home of Shelton V. Barrett, 34576 Statesville Road in Newsoms. Memorial donations may be made to Barnes United Methodist Church Building Fund.
