Obituary of August Harry Bamman Jr AUGUST HARRY BAMMAN JR Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, July 20, 2004 August Harry Bamman Jr., 81, a resident of the Virginia Beach Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, left us on Monday, July 19, 2004. Born in Miami, Ariz., he spent his adult years in Virginia Beach. He retired from Standard Office Supply Co. in 1985. Mr. Bamman attended R.P.I., a division of Old Dominion University, after serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Pacific during World War II. He was a longtime member of Thalia United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty Drewry Bamman; two sons, A. Harry Bamman III and his wife, Jennifer and Mark Alan Bamman; and a sister, Patricia Norland. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph Drewry Bamman. A memorial funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Thalia United Methodist Church by Dr. Eugene Thomas. Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Boykins, Va.
