Obituary of Richard Henry Baines RICHARD HENRY BAINES Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - August 14, 2001 SUFFOLK - Richard Henry Baines, 65, of the 300 block of Kingsboro St., died Aug. 13, 2001, in his residence. Mr. Baines was born in Suffolk, the son of the late Rufus Ashton Baines Sr. and Erma Delk Modlin Baines. He was also predeceased by his wife, Janice L. Baines. He retired as a sales manager from Suffolk Equipment and was currently employed with Ken DeLoach of State Farm Insurance. He was former owner of Town House Photography in Franklin, Va. He was a member of Sam's Wolf Pack Pool Team and founding member of the former Suffolk Photography Club. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Terri L. Baines of Portsmouth, Pamela B. and Michael Carr of Suffolk, and Kelly M. and Brian Powell of Suffolk; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark T. Baines Sr. and fiancee Susan Stallings of Windsor, Va., and Jeffrey L. and Tanja Baines of Suffolk; grandsons, Mark T. Baines Jr., Nicholas A. Baines, Jason M. Baines, Justin M. Carr and Russell A. Carr; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce B. and Jack Riddick of Suffolk, and Nancy B. and George White of Smithfield, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Rufus A. Baines Jr. and Lynne of Tappahannock, Va.; and a devoted companion, Janet Winslow. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. E. Clifton Whitlock. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
