Obituary of CLARA MAE RAIFORD STALLARLD BAINES The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, June 20, 1993 Clara Raiford Baines, age 51, a resident of 3000 White Marsh Rd., Suffolk, died Friday, June 18, 1993, in Waverly Health Care Center, Waverly. A native of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Marion J. Raiford. Clara was a member of Cypress Chapel Congregational Christian Church. She was a member of the Robin Circle and also a children's Sunday School teacher at the church. Mrs. Baines was an employee for the Federal State Inspection Service in Suffolk for 25 years. She is survived by her husband, Robert P. Baines; a daughter, Barbara J. Stallard of Stafford, Va.; a son, Kenneth L. Stallard, and her mother, Esther Collier Raiford, both of Ivor; two brothers, M. James Raiford, Jr., of Newport News and Marvin W. Raiford of Waverly; and a grandson, Cody L. Stallard of Ivor. Clara was predeceased by a brother, Aubrey M. Raiford. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 21, at Millfield Baptist Church, Ivor. The Rev. John R. Kimball and Mike Harrell will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield.
