 SUFFOLK - Eris Tripp Askew, 75, died Oct. 23, 2002, at Obici Hospital. Born April 20, 1927, in Kinston, N.C., she was the daughter of the late William Hubert and Moella Phelps Tripp. Mrs. Askew was a member of Somerton United Methodist Church. 
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Cross Askew; daughter, Charlotte A. Nelms and husband Willie E. of Greenville, N.C.; grandchildren, Michael and Mary Ellen Nelms of Greenville; and a sister, Mabel Raines of Yorktown. 
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Dan Armstrong with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Organ Fund of Somerton United Methodist Church, 8673 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23438.
