Obituary of MARY DIANA HILL ANDREWS The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - December 26, 1995 Mary Diana Hill Andrews, 90, of 200 W. Constance Road, died Dec. 22, 1995, in Obici Hospital. A native of Bosley, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles Walter and Armanella Speight Hill, and the widow of Willard Henry Andrews. She was predeceased by two brothers, James Carr Hill and C.W. Hill Jr. Mrs. Andrews graduated from Suffolk High School, Harrisonburg State Teachers College (James Madison University) and was a teacher for several years in the Suffolk Public School System. She was a longtime member of the Suffolk Christian Church, its Woman's Fellowship and Missionary Society, and superintendent of the Beginners Sunday school department from 1960 to 1970. She formerly served as junior Red Cross chairman for many years and taught first aid in the Suffolk and Nansemond County schools and to the Girl Scouts. She was formerly a TB chairman, a member of the Board of Directors of the Obici Auxiliary, and a member of the nursing school advisory council for 10 years. Mrs. Andrews was chairman of the Obici Auxiliary Library Committe and developed the first nurses home library using her own books. She served on the board for the Virginia Society for Crippled Children and Adults Suffolk Nansemond Chapter. Survivors include two sons, Willard H. Andrews Jr. of Richmond and Richard L. Andrews of Suffolk; four grandchildren, Brad and Todd Andrews and Lee and Kristen Andrews. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home by Dr. Robert B. Marr. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R.L.
