She was a native of Isle of Wight County, Va., and a former school teacher for Amelia County Public Schools. She was a homemaker and the widow of F. Grayson Allen. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late John A. Coggin and Eunice Rhodes Coggin. She was a graduate of Farmville State Teachers College and a member of the Longwood Alumni Association. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy A. and Bill Laine of Smithfield, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, John G. and Patty Allen of Windsor, Va.; granddaughters, Jenny Caterbone, Jessica Brock, Mary Beth Tynes and Kate Tynes; and great-grandchildren, Rachel and Ryan Caterbone. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Mark Habecker.
